Italian Minister Urges Kosovo to Not Be Afraid of Dealogue with Serbia
Italian Foreign Minister and International Cooperation, Luigi Di Maio has told Tuesday that Kosovo should not be afraid of dialogue with Serbia, as he underlined that this process will only strengthen Kosovo internationally.
Following meeting with Kosovo’s Foreign Minister, Donika Gervalla, Minister Di Maio also encouraged the countries of the Western Balkans to use the opportunity to sign regional agreements to facilitate the movement of people and services.
“We hope there will be work for reconciliation between the region and in this regard, I presented to the Minister the vision of Italy for the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia facilitated by the European Union, because here we are dealing with stability in the Balkans and Security in Europe, as we have encouraged the Serbs and we encourage Kosovo to continue forward and constructively and in an open spirit to have a constructive result that is an ambitious project, but achievable if there is political willâ€, said the Italian Minister.
During Di Maio’s official visit to Kosovo, Italy and Kosovo signed agreements to eliminate double taxation in terms of income tax and to prevent tax evasion and avoidance.
