Italian Tourist’s Statement after Yacht’s Sink Revealed
One of the Italian tourists, who miraculously escaped after the yacht he was traveling on the Albanian coast, sank after colliding with several underwater rocks has issued a statement.
The tourist said that they had left Slovenia and everything happened in the early hours of the morning, but also that the yacht had no problems and the cause was unsigned underwater rocks.
"The boat had nothing. We left Slovenia. We traveled all over Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and had no problems. Then at 04:30 in the morning the incident happened on the shores of Albania.
The rocks need to be signaled, unfortunately they were not signaled and we were hit. But, fortunately we did not die, the boat sunk. We were 4 people, including a child", said the Italian tourist.
However, the police informed that the event happened around 05:30, in the area called "Hunda e Plakut", on the beach of Zvërnec, while on board were 4 Italian tourists, including a child.
Law enforcement added that the yacht was operated by 61-year-old G.V, resident in Pavia, Italy. In the vehicle were citizens M. R., 38 years old, K. B., 33 years old and a minor, resident in Pavia, Italy.
Following the event, the injured were given first aid and are in good health.
On its part, police are continuing investigations to fully clarify the accident.
