Six Italian tourists visiting Albania have reported being assaulted in central Tirana, according to accounts given to Italian media. The incident allegedly took place on July 29 near Skënderbej Square, where the group said they were confronted by around 20 teenagers.

According to the tourists' account, the attackers, reportedly between the ages of 16 and 18, followed them through the area, throwing water, bottles, and stones before the situation escalated into a physical assault.

The visitors said one member of their group was surrounded by several individuals who allegedly demanded money and threatened him with a knife. The others managed to run away, while one person remained behind and was subjected to what they described as a violent attack.

The tourists also claimed that some police officers initially failed to provide assistance, saying they felt ignored at the scene. They said another group of officers later approached and offered help.

Following the incident, the six Italians said they decided to end their holiday in Albania and return home the next day.

Albanian authorities have not yet released an official statement regarding the reported assault. Investigations, including the identification of those involved and the circumstances of the incident, are expected to determine the next steps.
