Liz Truss Makes First Appointments

Liz Truss has appointed the first secretaries as she took office as Prime Minister in Great Britain. 

Thus, Kwasi Kwarteng was appointed chancellor, James Çleverly as foreign secretary, Suella Braverman as interior secretary, Therese Coffey as deputy prime minister and health secretary. 

Earlier, in her first speech as prime minister, Truss said she would work to make Britain a model. She said she would make sure people don't face hefty energy bills. 

"Great Britain has great reserves of talent and imagination. We can weather the storm and become the great Britain she knows we can be," Truss said in her speech.
