Majority-Opposition Reach Agreement on New President’s Election

An agreement between the opposition and the ruling majority has been reached this Wednesday on the issue of the election of the new President of the Republic.

During the discussions, Head of the Parliamentary group of Socialist Party (SP), Taulant Balla said that until the third round they will not make proposals for the president, while they will wait for those of the opposition.

This request was accepted by the Chairman of the Democratic Party (DP) parliamentary group, Enkelejd Alibeaj, who said that if there is a violation of the rules, it will be considered a violation of the agreement.

Excerpt of the discussion below:

Enkelejd Alibeaj: The proposal is given to us by the Constitution, you do not give it to us. The first three rounds the proposal must be of the opposition. Do you agree with the document we have given you, it is so simple.

Taulant Balla: We solved it, we agreed. You have the proposals until the third round. Until the third round you have it, do as you please. Remember, if you want to consult any name tell us when.
