The mayor of Libohova municipality, Leonard Hide was taken as defendant by the Special Prosecution against Corruption (SPAK) this Monday.

It was learned that he is under investigation for the duty he had when he was Chief of the Crime Sector in Gjirokastra Commissariat.

SPAK pretends that he abused with the duty on that time allowing cannabis cultivation.  

According to what it was said in the file, at the time he held the post of chief of police, he had the legal obligation to detect criminal activity, but there are doubts that in exchange of money as well as through his actions and inactions, he allowed the illegal activity.

Hide himself has stated that he is ready to resign as the head of Libohova Municipality to face justice.
