Meta-Peach Discuss Albania's EU Talks
President of the Republic, Ilir Meta has received Wednesday in his office in the Presidency the Special Envoy of the British Prime Minister Johnson for the Western Balkans, Sir Stuart Peach, with whom he celebrated also the 70th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's coronation.
On the social networks, President Meta stressed that the meeting also focused on the opening of Albania's negotiations for membership in the European Union and the importance of this development for the Albanian people and the future of the country.
Meanwhile, the Albanian Head of State revealed that strengthening stability in the region especially after the war in Ukraine were at the center of the conversation with Sir Stuart Peach.
"A special pleasure to receive in meeting Sir Stuart Peach, the Special Envoy of the British Prime Minister Johnson for the Western Balkans, with whom we also celebrated the 70th anniversary of the coronation of Her Majesty Elizabeth II.
We discussed the importance of Albania's negotiations in the European Union and the weight of this act for the Albanian people and the future of the country.
Strengthening stability in our region especially after the war in Ukraine were at the center of the conversation.
I thanked General Peach for his commitment to our region and asked that the UK's attention and initiatives to maintain stability, strengthen democracy and integration in our region be further enhanced in the future", underlined President Meta.
