Minimum Wage at Euro 500 from Jan 2026
The minimum wage will be increased to Euro 500 from 400 euro starting from January 2026, Prime Minister Edi Rama said on Thursday. During an online meeting with citizens on social platforms, Rama announced that the minimum wage increase will be approved in June and will enter into force in January 2026.
He stated that the average wage has tripled during his government.
“When we took office, the average wage in the public sector was Euro 372 and today in 2024 we closed with Euro 1000 in the average wage, according to INSTAT. So, we have made a very high increase, the overall average wage in the public and private sector was Euro 322, today it is Euro 830,” said Rama.
