The municipality council of Himara will gather today to elect the new mayor, after the resignation of the acting mayor Jorgo Goro, who was arrested on accuse for 'Duty abuse' and 'Documents Forgery'

Albaniandailynews.com learned that strong debates are expected as the ruling party has the majority of votes, and will vote to elect one of the vice mayors, Blera Bala or Pervin Gjikuria. 

Meanwhile the opposition, who won the last elections will require a member of the opposition to be elected as mayor.

The candidate who won in Himara, Fredi Beleri was arrested just two days prior of elections with the accuse of buying votes.
