New Education Minister Accused of Plagiarism
The recently appointed Minister of Education in Albania, Evis Kushi, has been accused of copying large sections of a scientific article, without proper reference, possibly to obtain the title Associate Professor, said researcher Vladimir Kola.
Researcher Kola has spoken of other copies of Education Minister Evis Kushi after publishing her 70% plagiarism of a scientific article. In an interview with Fax News, Kola said that there is another plagiarism made in the article introduced at the conference by two co-authors Evis Kushi and Marsida Ashiku.
He added that she may have used this article to get titles like Associate Professor, which remains to be verified.
"This is an article from 2010, while the Minister of Education completed her PhD studies in 2008. Of course, this article refers to her post-doctorate, but I said it could have been used to get other titles like Associate Professor. In November 2010 she received the title Prof. Associate, while in 2016 she received the title full professor.
I even want to add that I actually said 70% referring only to the article, but if we refer to another article from 2002, called "Does corruption effect income inequality and poverty", Sanjeev Gupta, Hamid Davoodi and Rosa Alfonso Terne are the authors, half page was taken from this article, but I did not mention this because it is a smaller amount of plagiarism," said Kola.
Among other things, Kola said that the reason that prompted him to start the search was the convincing statement of the Prime Minister that from Kushi's studies no evidence of plagiarism would emerge.
