NFA Starts Controls to Examine Quality of Ice Cream Products
The National Food Authority (NFA) has started controls over the country to examine the quality of ice cream products.
It was an investigation by the ‘Alert Center’ that raised the alarm that ice cream endangers our health and the health of children, as it had resulted that “in 5 samples analysed in Tirana, all result in Enterobacteriaceae and staphylococci, up to 10 times higher than allowed normsâ€.
For several days, concerns of citizens about the quality of open ice cream sold in Tirana have been circulating on social networks.
Following these reports and denunciations that have reached the address of NFA, the National Food Authority seems to have launched controls throughout the country.
It is learned that the Regional Directorates of NFA have exercised monitoring on the basis of denunciations received in the communication channels of the institution.
"During the official controls in the food business operators, 28 warning measures were given. Referring to the Annual Risk-Based Sampling Plan, 7 samples were taken in food products of different natures ", it is said in the announcement of NFA.
