PM Responds to Citizens regarding School Closures

Prime Minister Edi Rama responded to a citizen on social media, who asked him if there would be school closures due to Covid.

According to the Prime Minister, there is no plan to close schools, but he said that he expects the Technical Committee of Experts to take some measures, because as the Prime Minister says, Albania is not a country with absolute freedom.

"There is no plan to close schools, but some measures will have to be taken by the Technical Committee of Experts.

We cannot be the country with the greatest absolute freedom and meanwhile complain that they are trying to put a mask on us as the new variant is filling the hospitals. Some measures would be reasonable to expect from the Committee of Experts", said among others the Prime Minister.

The head of government also said that 107 people are hospitalized in the Infectious Diseases Hospital and according to him over 90% of them are not vaccinated. He stressed that vaccination is a vital need in the fight against the virus.

"107 people are hospitalized in Infective. Unfortunately over 95% are unvaccinated persons. A small amount are the vaccinated, who have the opportunity to pass it without problems except in rare cases where they have serious diseases. Anyway, I wish that the year that has just started will be good for all of us, our country and for our nation", said Rama.
