President of the Republic, Bajram Begaj, through a post on social media, expressed his congratulations on the 110th anniversary of the country's Armed Forces. 

Begaj wrote that he is forever grateful to the architects of independence, who in those difficult days, when the existence of the newly formed state was questioned, with courage, wisdom and high patriotism, founded one of the necessary pillars of guaranteeing the independence of the Albanian state.

December 4, 1912 marked the establishment of the Armed Forces in the history of our state and nation. The 110-year journey of the Armed Forces has been difficult and full of challenges. 

The Armed Forces of the Republic of Albania come today to this 110th anniversary of its establishment, as a modern force, a member of NATO and a reliable ally, capable of fulfilling its constitutional mission and Euro-Atlantic obligations, engaged in a series of missions in defence of peace and security, not only in the country, but also in the region and in the world. 

The achievements so far are the result of dedication and joint effort, as well as the irreplaceable support of our NATO friends and allies. Our gratitude and appreciation is maximum for the assistance provided for the transformation, modernization, training, education and enhancement of our military capacities, thanks to our close cooperation in the last three decades. 

At a time of increased challenges to security and peace, more dedication, responsibility and unsparing commitment from all of us is necessary.

I am convinced that our commitment and obligation will continue to remain sacred to the Motherland, Honour and Duty!
