Protests Held in Pristina on International Workers' Day

Prisitina's small businesses and the Trade Union Federation of Technical Workers of the Private Sector of Kosovo will protest this Monday on the occasion of May 1st.

Based on local media's reports, the Social Democratic Party for this day organizes an action in front of the Government of Kosovo.

The Trade Union Federation of Technical Workers of the Private Sector of Kosovo, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., from "Zahir Pajaziti" square, to the National Theater, will protest about the plight of the Private Sector Workers of Kosovo.

Small businesses would protest in front of the facility of the Municipality of Pristina, starting at 09:00.

Sabudin Hasani, representative of the "small businesses" association, told KosovaPress that the protest will be held against the injustice and discrimination that the municipality is doing to them in the use of public spaces.

According to him, the businesses in this protest will also request the continuation of permits for the kiosks, since they have been requesting the municipality for a year and a half, but it has not completed this process.

May 1 is known as International Labor Day. This manifestation was born from the workers' struggle to demand and ensure rights, freedoms and working and living conditions.
