Three Albanian Sentenced for Life after Killing Greek Teen

The court of Thessaloniki has given the final verdict for the murder of 19-year-old Greek Alkis Kampanos and the wounding of his two friends by a group of PAOK hooligans in February 2022 in the city of Thessaloniki. 

5 months after the start of the trial of 12 people, 4 of whom are of Albanian origin, who are accused of this sensational murder, which has shocked the whole country, the court has sentenced 7 of the 12 to life imprisonment and several years in prison the convicts. 

It also imposed sentences of many years in prison (up to 20 years) for the other five accused for the murder of the young Greek. Upon hearing the sentences, friends and relatives of Alkis Kampanos burst into applause. 

The 4 convicts of Albanian origin are Aleksandro Gega, Gerald Kambo, Rogers Demirazi and Afskendos Çarçiu. At the same time, the defendants were banned for 5 years from attending all PAOK matches in all sports. Appeals will also have no suspensive effect.
