Tirana Woman Detained on 'Computer Forgery' Charges

A 37-year-old woman has been arrested Friday by Tirana Police, after using the data of another citizen to open fake accounts on social networks. 

Authorities revealed that the 37-year-old with initials A.K., was remanded into custody after the report made by citizen M.K. that an unidentified person opened an account on social networks, with her personal data and photos and that of her minor child, as well wrote offensive and threatening statuses towards her. 

Following arrest, the procedural materials against the woman were handed over to the Prosecutor's Office for further action on the criminal offense "Computer forgery". 

"Specialists of the Computer Crime Investigation Section of DVP Tirana, after the report made by the citizen M.K., that an unidentified person opened an account on social networks, with her personal data and photos and that of her minor child, as well as wrote offensive and threatening statuses towards her, continuously, organized the work to identify and catch the suspected author. 

As part of the coded police operation "Account", the citizen: - A. K., 37 years old, resident in Tirana, was arrested for the criminal offense "Computer forgery". 

After the verifications carried out by the Computer Crime specialists, it turned out that this citizen has continuously used the generalities and photos of the citizen M.K. and her minor child, to open fake accounts on social networks, in which she wrote offensive statuses and threatening towards citizen M. K", said the police.
