Throughout the investigations overseen by Korça Prosecution Office, and in close cooperation  with the Judicial Police, citizen Elton Grabocka was apprehended in flagrante delicto few days ago, under suspicion of committing the criminal offense of “Trafficking of narcotics”, which remained in attempted commission, as stipulated in articles 283/a/1 and 22 of the Penal Code.

As part of the joint action plan "For the Prevention and Striking Illegal Activities, particularly in the area of trafficking of narcotics, and smuggling of arms and ammunition" between Korça Local Police Directorate and the Local Directorate of Border and Migration, an operation was launched based on the preliminary information dated 06.05.2024 indicating that the vehicle scanning system was undergoing maintenance. On the same day, around 11:50, at the Border Crossing Point "Qafë Thanë," a "Volkswagen" type vehicle driven by citizen E.G. was singled out for inspection in the second lane.

During the search conducted within the vehicle, beneath the front seat, on the side of the driver, where the feet are placed, an adapted compartment yielded the discovery of 11 packages, each meticulously wrapped in plastic, containing a substance suspected to be of the Cannabis Sativa variety.

Further scrutiny of the vehicle uncovered another storage compartment beneath the front passenger seat, yielding an additional 10 packages. The inspection continued to the rear section, revealing 30 more packages stashed underneath the seats.

In total, 51 packages, concealed within transparent plastic wrappings, were seized from the vehicle operated by citizen E.G. Inside these packages was a dry plant material bearing a striking resemblance in odor and characteristics to Cannabis Sativa, with a cumulative weight of 53.332 kilograms.

Regarding the aforesaid, the legal provisions stipulated in articles 228 and 229 of the Criminal Procedure Code necessitate the imposition of stringent personal security measure against the individual under investigation, E.G.
