US Ambassador Vows to Stay Longer than Mandate in Albania
Ambassador of the United States to Albania, Yuri Kim has underlined this Tuesday that she will continue to stay a little longer than the 3-year mandate in Albania after the launch of procedures for her replacement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During her speech at the conference on "Consolidation of the KLJ and the Supreme Court", ambassdor Kim focused on the Justice Reform, the Ambassador stressed that just like the Albanian citizens, the US also wants more of this reform.
"I have been in Albania for 3 years and I will be here for a little longer. This is what I have learned during these years, because there is a challenge here. You know this does not happen because Albania is unique, it is uniquely corrupt, no!
This is a small place and everyone knows everyone else.
The time has come to say that Albania is ready for the next phase. Albania has been a member of NATO since 2009. In July, the EU started negotiations for joining this dream club", said Ambassador Kim.
