US Calls for Immediate End to Military Hostilities Armenia-Azerbaijani

United States is deeply concerned about reports of attacks along the Armenia-Azerbaijani border and is calling for an immediate end to hostilities, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Monday.

"As we have long made clear, there can be no military solution to the conflict," Blinken said in a statement.

"We demand an immediate end to all military hostilities." Blinken added.

Clashes broke out between Azerbaijani and Armenian troops, news agencies reported early Tuesday, in a resumption of decades-old hostilities linked to the disputed territory of Nagorno-Karabakh.

Azerbaijan, which re-established full control over the territory in a six-week conflict in 2020, claimed casualties among its forces. Armenia did not mention casualties but said clashes continued overnight.
