US Embassy: NBI, Important Milestone for Albania’s Justice System
The US Embassy in Tirana announced that Ms. Aida Hajnaj has officially taken over as the first Head of the National Bureau of Investigation.
In the announcement, the embassy stated that this is an important milestone, not only for the Albania’s justice system, but also for women in leadership positions.
The embassy congratulated Albania for taking another step towards the justice that Albanians seek and deserve.
"Today, Ms. Aida Hajnaj, takes office as the first NBI Director in Albania. This is an important milestone, not only for Albania’s justice system, but also for women in leadership positions. As required by Albanian Law, Director Hajnaj completed a training program specifically designed by the International Criminal Investigative Training Assistance Program (ICITAP) in Albania focusing on the NBI Investigator selection process, NBI professional ethics, NBI discipline procedures, NBI use of force and firearms, NBI polygraph regulation, NBI relations with the Albanian State Police, and the oversight role of the NBI International Commission. We congratulate Albania on taking another step toward the justice that Albanians demand and deserve," Embassy announced.
