US Seeks Rapid Kosovo-Serbia Deal's Implementation

United States Ambassador to the United Nations, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, praised the "historic, legally binding normalization" agreement between Kosovo and Serbia on Tuesday in New York and called for its "rapid implementation".

According to a statement from the spokesperson of the US Mission to the UN, Nate Evans, Ambassador Thomas-Greenfeld made the comments in a meeting in New York with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo, Donika Gërvalla-Schwarz.

"Ambassador Thomas-Greenfield reiterated that the United States will remain actively engaged in supporting Kosovo and Serbia in the implementation of their commitments towards a stable and peaceful relationship," the spokesman's statement said.

The two senior diplomats discussed the sustainable partnership between the United States and Kosovo and their joint commitment to advancing stability and well-being in the Western Balkans, according to the announcement of the spokesperson of the US Mission to the UN, the VOA reported.
