'Ready to Share Development Opportunities'
The Academy of Sciences hosted an international scientific conference on Monday to commemorate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Albania and China, attended by Chinese Ambassador Pang Chunxue. Ambassador Chunxue highlighted the enduring friendship and cooperation across multiple sectors between the two nations over the years.
"China-Albania relations have always maintained positive development momentum," the ambassador remarked. She noted recent growth in agricultural exports from Albania to China, including honey and dairy products, and pointed to 2023 agreements on visa waivers and tourism cooperation that have facilitated increased people-to-people exchanges.
Ambassador Chunxue shared trade statistics, reporting that China-Albania trade reached $839 million from January to September 2024, marking a 2% increase compared to the previous year. China has become Albania's second-largest trading partner, and from January to July, 13,000 Chinese tourists visited Albania.
She emphasized the importance of political trust and practical cooperation between the two countries, underlining the potential for deepening economic ties. "We are ready to share the development opportunities and dividends of Chinese-style modernization with Albania. We aim to expand Albanian exports to China and encourage more Chinese enterprises to invest in Albania," Chunxue stated, expressing hope for a fair and open business environment for Chinese companies.
China’s permanent mission in Tirana, she noted, remains focused on promoting the healthy and stable growth of bilateral relations.
