2 Arrested by Korca Prosecution for Killing their Compatriot Back in 2008 in Greece

Upon order of Korça Prosecution Office, the two citizens, Gezim Latja and Armando Tarushllari were apprehended on charges of participating in the crime of " Murder with intent" committed in complicity.

The above mentioned citizens, were brought in for questioning on 07.05.2024 at Korça Police Directorate regarding their alleged involvement in the killing of A.Xh., on 23.12.2008, in Athens, Greece. The prosecution has been conducting investigations into this matter and has re-initiated them on 28.12.2013, pursuant to the criminal proceedings initiated on 23.12.2008.

Based on the investigative actions conducted thus far, concerning a comprehensive investigation into this criminal case, a reasonable suspicion supported by evidence and indications has arisen, thus implicating G.L. and A.T., also known as J.C., in the commission of the crime of "Murder with intent " carried out in complicity, as provided for in Articles 76 and 25 of the criminal Code, with the victim being A.Xh.

Consequently, immediate detention orders were issued for the suspects by the prosecutor. Following the execution of these orders, Korça Office sought the imposition of the precautionary measure of "Remand in Custody" for G.L. and A.T., alias J.C., as they are suspected of committing the offense of "Murder with intent" executed in complicity, as stipulated in Articles 76 and 25 of the Criminal Code, with the victim being A.Xh. This measure is aimed at ensuring their availability to the investigating authorities to thoroughly reveal the details of this criminal incident.

The murder occurred in Athens, Greece, at the "Karamali Kipseri" park, following a physical confrontation between two groups of Albanian citizens, during which knives and wooden sticks were employed, resulting in the death of A.Xh.
