Albania secured a comfortable 3-0 victory away to San Marino in the Nations League on Tuesday, scoring twice in the first half before adding a third after the break.

The visitors took control from the opening minutes, with Ernest Muçi and Kristjan Asllani testing the home goalkeeper from distance.

Albania opened the scoring in the 21st minute following a corner. Rey Manaj redirected the ball towards the far post, where Arlind Mehmeti arrived to turn it into the net.

The visitors doubled their lead six minutes later. Following a free-kick by Manaj, San Marino goalkeeper Federico Rosti parried the ball, but Myrto Uzuni reacted quickly to fire the rebound home.

The goal was reviewed by VAR for around two minutes before being confirmed.

San Marino created more space as Albania eased off after taking a two-goal lead, but the hosts failed to seriously threaten Thomas Strakosha's goal.

San Marino started the second half more positively and came close in the 57th minute, but Albania goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha reacted quickly to keep the ball out.

Albania restored control and added a third goal in the 65th minute. After another corner, the ball fell to Manaj, who scored at the second attempt to make it 3-0.

Albania coach Sylvinho then made several substitutions, giving playing time to other squad members. San Marino attempted to respond but could not find a way back into the match.

The result leaves Albania at the top of their Nations League group after Finland and Belarus drew 0-0 in the other group fixture.

Albania finished the match with a clean sheet and three goals away from home.
