Albania-Kosovo Trade Exchange Reach ALL 48.6Bn
Trade exchanges between Albania and Kosovo are calculated at Lek 48.6 billion during the January-November period of this year.
According to the Institute of Statistics (INSTAT), exports to Kosovo decreased by about Lek 350 million during the 11-month period of this year, while imports increased.
According to the report published by the Institute of Statistics on foreign trade, exports to Kosovo during the January-November period were Lek 34.2 billion, from Lek 37.7 billion in the first eleven months of 2023.
Meanwhile, imports for the 11-month period accounted for Lek 14.4 billion, from Lek 10.6 billion that were in the same months of 2023.
Albania's main exports to Kosovo are represented by the export of construction materials and metals, minerals and fuels, food as well as chemical and plastic products.
Important in the structure of exports are domestic wood/carpentry products such as seats (chairs and armchairs) or other furniture. Also, agricultural products have a considerable share.
During this period, referring to the data, Albania has exported to Kosovo about Lek 11.7 billion of construction materials and metals and about Lek 8.5 billion of minerals, fuel, and electricity.
Already from October 1, 2022, the customs clearance of all goods destined for Kosovo is being carried out at the customs of Durrës.
There are over 1,000 businesses from Kosovo that currently benefit from the opening of this branch, not only time but also reduced customs clearance costs.
