Two Planes with over 150 Afghan Refugees Arrive to Albania
Two planes with 154 Afghan refugees arrived to Albania during the early hours on Saturday. They were welcomed by the Prime Minister, Edi Rama, the Foreign Minister, Olta Xhacka and the US Ambassador to Tirana, Yuri Kim.
The first plane arrived at 23:00 pm Friday with 95 Afghan passengers on board, as the second flight with 59 people on board landed at about 3:00 am.
Among the 95 Afghan passengers who arrived last night, 2 were babies, who are fleeing the Taliban regime that has been installed in Afghanistan.
A total of 275 Afghan citizens have arrived in Albania so far, leaving their country after the Taliban took power. They are located in Durres and in Student City.
