Albania Reports Nine Active Wildfire Hotspots as 450 Personnel Battle Blazes
Albania’s Ministry of Defense said Wednesday that nine wildfire hotspots remain active across the country, with fires reported in the regions of Dibër, Tirana, Durrës, Korçë and Gjirokastër.
According to the ministry, around 450 personnel are currently deployed on the ground to respond to the active fires and support firefighting operations.
The largest concentration of forces is in the Lurë area of Dibër, where approximately 200 personnel have been deployed as authorities continue efforts to contain the flames.
The ministry’s latest update comes as firefighting teams remain engaged in several parts of the country, with authorities monitoring the situation and coordinating response efforts in the affected areas.
Officials have not yet provided a final assessment of the damage caused by the active fires.
