Albania to Increase Military Presence in Kosovo
The newly appointed ambassador of Albania in Kosovo, Petrit Malaj, has announced that the Albanian Armed Forces will increase their presence in the NATO KFOR military mission.
Ambassador Malaj met the Commander of the NATO Mission in Kosovo, Ozkan Ulutas, with whom he discussed the security situation in Kosovo. After the meeting, he confirmed that the increase in the number of Albanian soldiers in the NATO mission will take place during 2024.
"I confirmed that Albania will continue to support KFOR, as our country has Kosovo as the highest priority. Likewise, this support will continue since in 2024, Albania will increase its presence", Malaj wrote after the meeting.
The Ambassador of Albania, among other things, said that the only way to normalize relations between Kosovo and Serbia is through dialogue.
So the commander of KFOR Major General Uluta? has thanked Albania for the support it gives to KFOR.
Currently, the Albanian Armed Forces are contributing to the military mission of NATO, KFOR in Kosovo with about 90 soldiers.
