Albania to Tighten Covid-19 Restrictions, Fully Lockdown on Weekend

The Health Committee of Experts in Albania is expected to introduces new Covid-19 restrictions on Thursday as country is facing a new wave of new infections an hospitalizations, deaths surge.

Albaniandailynews.com has learned that this committee will propose to the government to tighten Covid-19 restrictions by imposing a new daily curfew from 18:00 pm to 60:00 am, while actually is from 20:00 pm to 06:00 am.

The committee is expected to propose that bars, restaurants, fast food, and other similar activities are prohibited from operating between 18:00pm and 6:00am, except for delivery services. Public movement is restricted during these hours except for work reasons, health care emergencies, or urgent needs. 

Local media also reported that is expected to be announced a fully lockdown during weekend for at least 14 days as Albania is facing more than 1000 new infections everyday and the country's Covid-19 death toll surpassed 1700.

Country registered on Wednesday one of the highest number of victims, as 19 people died within 24-hours.
