Albania-Turkey Agreement for Gjirokastra Revealed

Prime Minister Edi Rama has unveiled Sunday that the current Socialist government has made a deal with Turkey to make a significant investment in Gjirokastra as he started the day in this city, from where he listed some of the projects.

In his statement, the Head of Government informed that the above investment consists of a considerable group of houses, so that the architectural values of the city do ​​not degrade.

Among other things, Rama revealed some of the projects that will be done in this city, from the large parking lot to the eBy Pass, which according to him, will start soon.

“Gjirokastra will continue in another level. We will make the big parking lot, which will try not only to have a large influx of tourists, who are expected to come after the pandemic, and we will make the historic pedestrian center, with the new By Pass, which will start a building very soon, it is only a matter of days.

Another project is the systematization of those houses that have been built with abusive additions, that will be legalized. We have made an agreement with the Turkish government to make a significant investment in another area of ​​Gjirokastra, with another significant group of houses, in order to not let the architectural values ​​ degrade", said PM Rama.

On January 19, the building machines arrived in Fier, at the construction site where the new hospital financed by Turkey will be built.

Earlier on, PM Rama picked the land where the hospital will be constructed as soon as he returned from Turkey, but the landowners oppose the price decided for expropriation.
