Albanian Arrested in Italy for Exploitation of Prostitution
A 30-year-old Albanian man has been handcuffed by the Italian police after being accused of the criminal offense of "trafficking in human beings" and "sexual exploitation of minors and child pornography".
The Italian media write that an arrest warrant for the Albanian was issued by the Greek police, after the investigations revealed that the young man had exploited an Albanian minor for prostitution.
According to the media, it is known that the suspect is under investigation, along with other compatriots, after they had convinced the 15-year-old to reunite with her boyfriend in Athens, thus creating conditions for her to enter Greece illegally.
Italian media reports that the minor, who had just arrived in Greece in December 2014, was allegedly sexually abused and forced into prostitution for more than a month by the suspects.
After several days of research and monitoring of his acquaintances and contacts, the investigators managed to catch the Albanian in Cremonese, where he was detained and escorted to the police station for the identification procedure.
The Albanian was placed at the disposal of the Court of Appeal of Brescia, which will evaluate his possible extradition to Greece.
