Albanian Bicyclist in Germany Was Ambushed, Shot Twice in the Head

An Albanian drug addict, who had been living in Germany since 2018 and was homeless but mostly based in Krefeld, got killed Monday evening in Krefeld, Germany, by being shot twice in the back of the head.

Based on reports by the German newspaper BILD, the victim was known to the police, as he had already been noticed several times for various offenses (narcotics, theft).

Nevertheless, the two perpetrators apparently arrived at Garnstraße in Krefeld in a stolen blue Peugeot. They apparently parked the car there and waited for the Albanian. It is suspected that he was shot from this blue Peugeot

When the Albanian came, the suspected perpetrators came out. One was of medium build, wearing a dark jacket, light colored pants and a light colored hat. The second was also of normal height, wearing a dark jacket with a logo on the back, dark pants and a dark hat.

The two went about 30 meters towards the Albanian, then probably four shots were fired, two of which are known to have been fatal. According to the police, the day after the crime, bullet holes were found in a house facade in the mailbox and there in a mobile phone system.

"According to the current status of the investigation, it can be ruled out that the man was an accidental victim. However, the motive for this bloody deed is still unclear. We are investigating in all directions", said the prosecutor of the case, while the police seized the car for further forensic investigations.

The perpetrators left on foot and it is not known if they got into another vehicle. It is clear that an immediate search was unsuccessful.

Investigators are pursuing a drug environment approach. A trial of a drug dealer currently underway in Krefeld may have nothing to do with Monday night's case.

Although the victim was a witness in the investigation, the Albanian did not have to appear in court because his testimony was no longer necessary.
