Albanian Drug Boss Killed in Ecuador

Ergys Dashi, 34 years old from Durrës, was killed on Saturday night in Guayaquil, Ecuador with a hail of bullets.

In the restaurant where he was having dinner on Avenue José Joaquín Orrantia, the two perpetrators entered and opened fire in his direction.

One of them was holding a bouquet of flowers in his hand, while the other fired in the direction of the 34-year-old who took several bullets in the front of the skull. They were initially stopped at the entrance of the bar by staff who asked for a vaccination certificate, but the latter was forced to withdraw after seeing that the men were armed.

After carrying out the execution, the perpetrators left on a motorcycle and opened fire again in the direction of the restaurant. The reason for the execution of the 34-year-old is suspected to be his past in drug trafficking.

Dashi has previously been arrested in Italy as one of the "heads" of a criminal organization. He was handcuffed on September 18, 2014, along with 31 other people after being hit by an Albanian-led criminal drug trafficking organization.

The criminal organization in which Dashi belonged managed drug trafficking. Large quantities of narcotics were purchased in bulk in Albania, Spain and Bolivia and then distributed throughout Italy. The criminal organization in question earned € 60,000 and € 70,000 per month.

The charges against Ergys Dashi were those of cooperation as a criminal organization of drug trafficking, exploitation of prostitution and illegal possession of weapons. Dashi was 25 years old at the time of the operation and lived in Porto S. Elpidio, Italy.
