Albanian Drug Trafficker Deported from UK
British authorities have arrested and then deported a 39-year-old Albanian man who has been convicted of human trafficking. The media report that it is about Hazir Lala, who lived in Walthamstow.
He was arrested, remanded in custody and subsequently handed over to Immigration Compliance and Enforcement for deportation.
Lala has a long list of previous convictions.
In April 2016 he was convicted of driving while intoxicated, driving without insurance and possession of forged documents. He was deprived of the right to drive for 15 months and sentenced to 6 months in prison.
On 4 September 2019 he was arrested again in the UK, charged with organized immigration crime committed in Belgium. He was extradited to Belgium in 2020 where he was convicted of human trafficking and participation in a criminal organization.
The 39-year-old Albanian was sentenced to five years in prison, but his sentence was suspended. Lala returned to the UK and was arrested again. On August 19, 2020 he was deported to Albania, but returned to England. The Albanian was arrested several times in July.
The regional head of the investigation said that there is no place for the Albanian in Britain. "Hazir Lala is a convicted human trafficker and has no place in the UK, his presence here posed an unacceptable danger to the public. "Tackling organized crime of immigration and trafficking in human beings is a priority for the agency," he said.
