Arrests of several police officers have started in Vërmica, where the Kosovo Police Inspectorate and the Special Prosecution in cooperation with the Albanian authorities are conducting an anti-corruption action.

Local media report that some of the police officers who were on duty at the border crossing in Vërmicë have been arrested and that they have been replaced by other force members.

However, the Police Inspectorate of Kosovo and the Special Prosecution in cooperation with the Albanian authorities are continuing the action "Point", which a few weeks ago ended with the arrest of over 50 police officers.

About 20 Kosovo and 40 Albanian police officers are expected to be arrested there. They are suspected of the criminal offenses of "taking bribes" and "abuse of official position or authority".
