Albanian Satellites Launched into Space; PM Says

Satellites Albania 1 and Albania 2 have started their way into space. The news was announced by Prime Minister Rama himself through a live video on "Facebook" where the launch of the Falcon 9 rocket is monitored, which is the joint mission of SpaceX Transporter 6 that also transports the satellites Albania 1 and Albania 2, into space.

This was realized through a contract, which consists of the exclusive use of two satellites, for a period of three years, for the monitoring of the territory of the Republic of Albania, the development of the technical and professional capacities of the Republic of Albania for the use of the satellite service, the processing of Geospatial Information (GIS), as well as the provision of imaging products and its other components", said Defence Minister Niko Peleshi.

Prime Minister Edi Rama sees the need for these two satellites as related to the situation of the failure of efforts to eliminate illegal constructions. The eye from 150 km away will detect violations, which will no longer be able to escape the government.

"The Falcon 9 rocket has just been launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida, the joint mission of SpaceX Transporter 6 that also transports our satellites, Albania 1 and Albania 2, into space", announced Prime Minister Rama in a post on Facebook.
