Albanian Wounded in Assassination Attempt in Greece

A 43-year-old Albanian, identified as Emil Backa, was wounded by gunshots in Kato Achaia, Greece. 

The event happened Wednesday evening and according to the Greek media, the 43-year-old man was recently released from prison after being convicted of drug charges. 

He was shot while returning home around 11:40 p.m., where a black car approached him and the person inside shot him 3 times at close range. After the incident, the perpetrator quickly left. 

As a result of the shooting, the Albanian was transferred to the Kato Achaia Health Center and then to P.G.N.P. Rio for more specialized treatment. 

Two 9 mm firearm casings and a bullet deformed from a firearm casing were found at the scene. 

Greek authorities are working to identify the perpetrator.
