Ali Ahmeti Honoured with Title ''Honorary Citizen' in Albania

The leader of the Democratic Union for Integration Party in North Macedonia, Ali Ahmeti, was honoured Thursday in Albania with the title 'Honorary Citizen' by Tirana Municipality.

This title was proposed by the mayor, Erion Veliaj and present at the ceremony was Prime Minister, Edi Rama, former presidents of Albania, Minister of Interior, Taulnt Balla and other personalities. 

"Considering who I have to talk about today, I was very afraid that I could spend hours talking about Ali Ahmeti's personality and character. Very honorable and beloved chairman, Ali Ahmeti, dear friends and guests, today Tirana honors an Albanian among the best of our national history," said Veliaj.

Ali Ahmeti was awarded the title "Honorary Citizen of Tirana" with the motivation: "in recognition of his continuous contribution to the protection of the interests of Albanians in the Republic of North Macedonia, the growth of political, social and economic relations between the Albanian community of North Macedonia with the citizens of Tirana, and strengthening the connection between communities to build a common climate of cooperation and respect between Albanians and Macedonians".
