Anti-Drug Operation in Fier, 30 Kg Cannabis Seized

An anti-drug operation was recently carried out in Fier, while the Director of the Fier police, Lorenc Panganika, through a press conference, announced that 30 kg of cannabis and 500 g of cocaine were seized. 

In the framework of this proceeding under the direction of this Prosecutor's Office, the police structures, based on the special operational plan 'Vacuum', have prevented the trafficking of a significant amount of narcotics and made it possible to attack the criminal group, which operated mainly in the field of trafficking of narcotics. 

During this operation, the Police services, based on the information provided during the procedure, have exercised control in the premises of the residence of the citizen Eduart Mehmetaj and in the suspected vehicle that could be used to transport narcotics. 

The inspection showed that on the floor (in the space previously prepared in this vehicle), about 30 kilograms of cannabis sativa narcotics and half a kilogram of cocaine narcotics were found. 

The cannabis narcotic substance was divided into small, pressed packages, with the aim of trafficking to Greece. 

Subsequently, controls were carried out inside the residence of citizen E.M., where 3 electronic scales, a significant amount of packaging, plastic gloves, pressing machines and other tools used for the processing and packaging of narcotics were found. 

Following the investigations within the anti-drug police operation coded Vakumi, the escort and red-handed arrest of the citizens Panajot Shahaj 43 years old and Osmen Mehmetaj 71 years old, both residents of the village of Cakran, Fier municipality, has been made. They are suspected of the criminal offenses "Production and Sale of narcotics", and "Keeping, production and transportation of chemical substances". 

In the following, the search announcement was made and the work continues, for the capture of the citizen Eduart Mehmetaj, 41 years old, as the organizer of this criminal activity, as well as the investigations for the identification and capture of other citizens cooperating in this criminal activity.
