Albania is gripped by a bitter cold with very low temperatures. During the night there were temperatures below 0 ° C, while in the mountainous areas they reached -20 ° C, but without creating problems with the circulation of vehicles. 

According to the Albanian Road Authority (ARA), contractors with snowplows have been on the ground and have distributed salt on all national axes to avoid frost. ARA appeals to drivers to be careful. 

"In the axes Qafë-Thore Theth and Kukës-Shishtavec, the traffic is done with chains, work is being done for the cleaning from the snow. Drivers, meanwhile, must be careful when moving, respect road signs, reduce speed, be equipped with chains and winter tires", it is said in the announcement of ARA.
