Drop in temperatures has been accompanied by snowfall in the northern and southeastern regions of Albania.

Albanian Road Authority (ARA), while providing information on the situation, said that all roads are passable. 

ARA also appealed to the drivers of vehicles, who circulate in areas with the presence of snow, to use winter tires and chains.

Furthermore, ARA asks the drivers to respect the signs and not to abuse with the speed.

"During the night, the entire country was engulfed by rain and snow in the mountainous areas, the work groups were on the ground to clean up the fall of stones or inerts on the body of the road. The temperatures were low.

In Korçë-Dardë, in Tamarë-Vermosh, in Qafë Thore-Bogë, in Valbona from km 20 there was snowfall with average intensity. The snow removal vehicles continued their work without interruption. The roads are cleared of snow and traffic continues without problems.

"Drivers should be equipped with winter tires and chains when traveling to segments with the presence of snow, reduce speed, respect the signage and the instructions of the Traffic Police", underlined ARA.
