Bardhi Addresses Parliament on Mandate of Socialist MP, Xhaçka

The head of Democratic Party parliamentary group, Gazment Bardhi, officially addressed the Parliament this Monday, urging to implement the decision of the Constitutional Court on the mandate of socialist MP, Olta Xhaçka.

According to him, this decision is not implemented from more than a year now.

"This case takes on the dimensions of pure political protection and obstruction of justice, if we take into consideration the new data investigated and made public by SPAK, from which it turned out that ownership of the land was obtained with completely falsified documents by made it possible for an agricultural land, with a total area of 10,592 m2, located in Dhërmi/Vlora, owned by the state, to be alienated through transactions to third parties in favor of the private entity owned by the husband of MP Olta Xhaçka, stripping the state of its ownership and benefiting with forged documents the status of strategic investor from Prime Minister Edi Rama and the right to develop a project worth 5 million euros in the field of tourism", said Bardhi.

Based on the above, Bardhi considers as unacceptable the political protection and obstruction of justice that the majority is doing in the case of the former minister and MP, Olta Xhaçka, preventing the implementation of decision no. 1/2023 of the Constitutional Court.

He requests the implementation of this decision as well as the meeting of the Conference of Speakers within the 48-hour deadline defined in the Assembly Regulations.
