Basha Reacts after Macron's Statement on Kosovo

The chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha, has reacted after French President Emmanuel Macron's statements on the suspension of the visa liberalization for Kosovo, in case the latter does not accept sitting at the dialogue table and the Franco-German plan.

According to Basha, penalizing the citizens of Kosovo is not the right way to bring the parties to dialogue.

According to him, Europe cannot continue to behave as if nothing happened on September 24, and turn a blind eye to Serbia's responsibility.

"Penalizing the citizens of Kosovo is not the right way to bring the parties into dialogue, nor to resolve the disputes between Kosovo and Serbia.

Europe cannot continue to act as if nothing happened on September 24, nor turn a blind eye to the responsibility of Serbia, whose president openly defies, rejecting sanctions against Russia and appearing on the side of Vladimir Putin.

The scenarios for the destabilization of the entire region are in front of everyone's eyes, so maximum Euro-Atlantic engagement in the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue is necessary, for the implementation of the Franco-German plan and the conclusion with an agreement centered on mutual recognition.

As a contribution to peace and stability in the Balkans and Europe, now is the time for the remaining 4 NATO countries to pave the way for Kosovo's membership in the Alliance, starting with the inclusion in the Partnership for Peace", emphasizes Basha.
