Berisha Praises Ex-Rival Nano for Resigning after Losing Elections
From the 'Podium' of Kuçova, former Prime Minister Sali Berisha has returned to talk about his former rival, the socialist Fatos Nano, praising him for standing down after losing the elections in 2005.
While making a joke with Nano, saying that when he is sober he speaks correctly, Berisha stressed that he has a merit for the Socialist Party and the country, because he set an example by resigning and running again as an ordinary member.
According to Berisha, this was an example to be appreciated. However, Berisha did not hesitate to attack Nano's successor, Prime Minister Edi Rama, for whom he said he decided in the statute that who loses the election leaves, but after the loss in 2021, forced the members to change the statute.
"The debt was used for clientele concessions. After my friends had bought the most modern equipment for sterilization of medical devices, the concession of 100 million euros would be given to a mason to guarantee sterilization. What happened to this money, secret tenders to steal at night without anyone seeing them. They increased by 15 times compared to before 2013. Just a year ago, parliament passed 8 laws for the clans of the underworld.
Did we manage to do anything with all these black records? What did the hostage leader of the opposition, Basha, do? He went from failure to failure. Just like in 1946, when Enver Hoxha was doing everything to make Albania part of Yugoslavia, so Edi Rama is doing everything to turn Albania into a vassal of Belgrade. Europe created the Berlin Initiative to help these countries join the EU. After Europe ordered them to remove the name Mini-Schengen, they turned to George Soros. It is a completely anti-Albanian initiative. Firstly because it surrounds Kosovo in an anti-friendly ring. It destroys the Albanian economy.
The SP passed a major test towards reform with Fatos Nano. Despite the fact that when he is sober, he speaks correctly... We need to recognize this merit. It was used by Edi Rama. He did a great thing for the SP and for the country. He came up, from ordinary member and became party chairman. This cannot denied. He lost power and resigned. What did the successor do? He stipulated that the chairman who loses the election must leave. He lost the 2009 election and not only did not leave, but forced members to change the statute," Berisha said.
