Berisha to Convene Democrats ahead of DP's National Council
Former Prime Minister and Chairman of the Democratic Party (DP), Sali Berisha, will gather this Wednesday the parliamentary group of his political entity in the blue headquarters.
This meeting, which comes a few days before the DP National Council, which will be held on September 26, will take place at 13:00 this Wednesday.
In the agenda, there will be a discussion about the political situation where decisions on the opposition action are also expected, based on a previous announcement.
Earlier on, the Chairman of the National Council, Edi Paloka, notified that the National Council of the Democratic Party will meet on Monday, September 26, at 5:00 p.m.
According to the agenda, the Democrats will discuss the political situation and decision-making on the opposition action.
"In this framework, the progress of the process initiated by the working groups throughout the country for the consolidation of the PD structure will be reviewed", it was said in the PD announcement.
Nevertheless, the last meeting of the National Council took place on June 6, where the new structures of the Party were also elected.
Meanwhile, the DP continues to be divided: on one side is the Speaker, Sali Berisha with his supporters and on the other side the head of the parliamentary group, Enkelejd Alibeaj, who is not recognized as such by the Former PM.
As for the opposition action, Berisha has stated that he is in full coordination with the Freedom Party and its chairman, Ilir Meta, who have warned of continuous protests.
