Cannabis Cultivation, Two Albanians Sentenced to Jail by British Justice

Two Albanians have been sentenced to prison in England after being caught on a cannabis farm. Initially, the Albanians Ardit Bytyçi and Anolit Domi had acquired a property with the intention of opening a hair salon, but very soon they turned it into a 'cannabis farm'.

They were arrested during an operation by the English police a few months ago, while the two Albanians denied any involvement in the cultivation and growth of cannabis. The police seized the phones where they found compromising photos of the two Albanians. According to the English prosecutors, Bytyçi played the main role in the development of the farm. The Albanians were caught off guard as they were dismantling the cannabis farm equipment while a van was waiting for them outside.

The 27-year-old Bytyçi and the other 24-year-old Albanian initially denied the charges, but when they appeared in court, they changed their statements. According to the defence lawyers, Bytyçi, without a previous criminal record, entered the UK illegally and asked for a lawyer to help him in immigration matters.

"He entered here illegally trying to make a better life, but now he will have to return to Albania", said the judge. As for the 24-year-old Domi, he had borrowed money and was involved in the cannabis traffic to repay it.

Meanwhile, English prosecutors suspect that the Albanians may be connected to a wider drug trafficking network, the English media write.

The 27-year-old Bytyçi was sentenced to almost 2 years in prison, while Domi was sentenced to approximately 1 year of imprisonment.
