Cannabis Grow House in Vadhizë Village, Fier Prosecution Launches Investigation into Four Criminal Offenses
Fier Prosecution Office has launched an investigation into the criminal offenses of “Production and Sale of Narcotics,” “Cultivation of Narcotic Plants,” and “Theft of electrical power or phone impulses” as provided for in Articles 283/1, 284/1, and 137/1 of the Criminal Code, against citizen I.G. Additionally, proceedings have been initiated against citizen R.M. for “Abuse of Office,” as provided under Article 248 of the Criminal Code.
The investigation was initiated according to a notification received on May 25, 2025, concerning the detention of citizen P.G. at Morina Border Crossing Point. During the search of the vehicle he was driving, a quantity of a plant suspected to be the narcotic substance Cannabis sativa was discovered. Subsequently, the judicial police conducted a search of his residence, located in the village of Vadhizë, Fier Municipality. The search revealed that sections of the property had been repurposed as a cannabis cultivation site, while the premises remained occupied by his family.
During the search of the residence, cultivated narcotic plants were discovered, supported by heating, extraction ventilation systems, along with seedlings, a quantity of narcotic substances, and suspected narcotic seeds. Furthermore, an illegal electricity connection was identified, deliberately tampered with to avoid detection and measurement of the power consumption used for plant cultivation. Thereafter, the judicial police arrested in flagrante delicto citizens I.G. and the field technical specialist of OSHEE responsible for the area, R.M.
