Chestnut Trail, the Newest Tourist Destination

The "Trail of Chestnuts" is a new multi-day hiking route designed for hiking enthusiasts, offering a 4-5 day journey through the mountains with several stops in guesthouses or stables, blending natural and cultural attractions, traditional foods, and chestnut forests. This itinerary, prepared with great care by tourism and promotion specialists, local guides, and residents, with the support of the international organization FAO, will be celebrated in a few days with a special celebration and seminars in Tropoja, coinciding with the chestnut harvest time in this region.
The Chestnut Trail is a unique itinerary that connects the Great Highlands with Tropoja, passing through places and villages that are already in focus in tourism, offering visitors a unique experience, from traditional hospitality to fascinating nature. Tropoja is known for its wild and untouched nature and the tradition of hospitality, thus turning it into the most beloved destination for all those who love mountain tourism.
Northern Albania is known for the large massifs of chestnuts in our country, especially in the regions of Tropoja and Shkodra. Chestnuts are a good source of food for these areas, for honey with its special aroma and properties, for timber but also for enriching the landscape, making it even more fascinating. For this reason, it is thought that this tourist route will add value to the growth of sustainable tourism in these areas. The first organized tourists will cross this new tourist itinerary this week and at the end of it, there will be a party, to start off on the right foot, a journey that will be put on the maps of many, many travelers from Europe.
