Clashes Erupt Again in Tirana as Protesters Throw Stones at Police Near Prime Minister’s Office

Protesters returned to Dëshmorët e Kombit Boulevard on Sunday, on the sixth day of protests, attempting to approach the Prime Minister’s Office as tensions continued to escalate in the Albanian capital.

A heavy security presence was deployed outside the government building, with members of the Rapid Intervention Forces (FNSH), the “Eagles” special police units, multiple police vans and two water-cannon vehicles positioned at the front of the security cordon.

As on the previous day, demonstrators continued throwing stones toward police, who responded by deploying tear gas to disperse the crowds.

The latest confrontations underscore the continuing tensions surrounding the demonstrations in Tirana, with protesters seeking to move closer to the government headquarters and security forces maintaining a defensive perimeter.
