In Shkodra, there are 414 small businesses that have entered the passive status or 65% more than the same period last year.
An increase in closed businesses was also observed in Korça (+ 58%), Saranda (+ 54%), Kukës (49%), Elbasan (41%).
Dibra is the only region that has seen a decrease in the number of closed businesses by 20% for the period in question compared to 2019.
Regarding Tirana, almost 1600 subjects went into passive status for the period May-October, with an increase of 22% compared to the same period a year ago. Durrës, which in addition to the pandemic was also hit by the earthquake, reached the number of 680 closed businesses.
Closed businesses claim that the declining turnover from Covid-19, fiscal obligations, fines, cancellation of contracts, etc., are some of the reasons that led them to closure.
